Photoshop help

This is a post about photographs that can go wrong.
I recently took a walk along the coastal path neat me and took some pictures.  It was a lovely day as the sun was so bright but It did restrict the fact I couldn't see the photo once I'd took it and found they were very dark.
So it meant I had to take these photos and tweek them up a bit in photoshop to make them clearer.
To do this I adjusted the colour balance and the levels.
I have to admit it was very amateurely done but I've never had to do something like this. It also shows that it's it's the end of the world if the photo is 100% right but it always helps when it's as acurate as desired.
